Adjectives
An adjective (bijvoegelijk naamwoord) 
says something about a noun (a person or an object, NL)
Example:
Tom is shy.
Alice is happy.
The weather is lovely

Adverbs
An adverb (bijwoord) refers to a verb, an adjective or another adverb. Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly to an adjective.

She worked accurately.
It was extremely hot.
He worked extremely accurately.

THE RULES
Algemene regel / meest gebruikt
-ly (beautifully, nicely)

Woorden die eindigen op –le
-le > -ly (terrible – terribly)

Woorden die eindigen op een medeklinker + -y
> -ily (easy – easily)

Woorden die eindigen op –ic
-ic > -ally (fantastic – fantastically)

Exceptions I
• After look, feel, taste, smell, sound, 
use the same form as the adjective:
"The soup takes good" 

• fast, hard, soon, late, early - same form for adverb and adjective
“this exercise is hard.” “He works hard.”

• The adverb of "good" is "well":
She's a very good singer. <-> She sings very well.

• fast, hard, soon, late, early - no change!!
“this exercise is hard.” <-> “He works hard.”
"My father has a fast car." <-> "My father drives very fast."

• Welke gebruik je bij znw die je NIET kan tellen?
> (A) little , much

• UITZONDERING : 
> Lots of, a lot of  > bij zowel woorden die je WEL als NIET kunt tellen

Much / many = ontkennend + vragende zinnen

a lot of = bevestigende zinnen


Example:  

Bevestigend:    I have a lot of time

Ontkennend/vragend:     I don't have much time / Do I have much time?

> Om extra nadruk te geven aan een bijvoeglijk naamwoord, bijwoord of werkwoord. Ze staan VOOR het woord waarover ze iets zeggen. 
"enough" -> after an adjective or adverb:
