Announce lesson goal:

We are going to be practicing listening today and we'll do this by listening to a song by a British singer called Anne Marie.

Ask if anyone has heard of Anne Marie

She's from the UK, Essex

I had never heard of her but I went to a music festival over the summer and really enjoyed this song. I thought it would be "perfect" for a listening lesson for this class.

Ask students to think about the title. They may answer in Dutch or English (differentiate levels in the class)

Listen for the following information:

Does she want to put make-up on?

What clothing does she want to wear?

Which singer does she want to see with her family?

Instruct students that they will be listening to the song and they should listen for the above information. Explain the questions in Dutch too, but end with the questions in English so that they know what to listen out for. 

Ask individual students which words they should look out for

(make-up, a piece of clothing, family)
