Relative pronouns verbindt zinnen met elkaar of geven extra informatie.

Relative pronouns

1. Who

•  je gebruikt who bij personen.
• Voorbeeld:

The boy, who works at the restaurant, is nice.

The girls, who are best friends, are working together

2. Whose: 

•  je gebruikt whose om te zeggen dat iets van iemand is.
• Voorbeeld:

Renate, whose job it is to clean the canteen, was not at work today.

I am looking for the girl whose car is blocking my front door.

•  je gebruikt which bij dieren en dingen.
• Je gebruikt which als je de extra informatie kan weg laten:

- The hotel, which is expensive, was close to the beach.

        --> The hotel was close to the beach.
