- For a decision made at the moment of speaking.
"I'll phone you later."

- Or for promises and offers.
"I'll call you this evening."

Remember:      will / won't   +     V1

- For expressing present intentions for the future.

*intentions = things you would like to do, but not carefully planned

3. Present continuous (verb-ing)
- Used to talk about something we have arranged (carefully planned)

"I'm meeting Henry for lunch on Friday."
"He's playing football with his friends this evening."

*Remember - going to and present continuous are very similar. You can always use going to instead of present continuous.

Going to = not carefully planned, Pres. con. = carefully planned

4. Present simple
- For discussing an action which has been officially fixed or is part of a regular timetable.

- There are some other phrases used for discussing future plans and arrangements: 

- decided to... (V1)
- planning to... (V1)
