What are adverbs?
Verbs = action words (things you do)
Adjectives = describing words

Adverbs = words that describe verbs

My sister got married today, obviously she was very happy.
We travelled for 9 hours, but eventually we got there.

Look at the meaning and the pronunciation of these adverbs.

Describes an action that was not wanted, unlucky

Surprisingly
Describes an action that you did not expect

Gradually
Describes an action that happened bit by bit, over a long time

Describes an action that happened very quickly, without pause

(opposite of gradually)
