Reading strategies & necessity

1. skimming = globaal lezen, om een idee te krijgen waar het over gaat
2. scanning = snel zoeken naar bepaalde informatie
   
3. intensive reading = zo goed lezen dat je alles begrijpt
4. Discuss when to use which strategy?!
   

What do you do if you don't know the meaning of a word?

Some instruction for all of you

Each student receives a hard copy with the two texts.

Student A: 

• works independently
• creates a word scheme (see hand out)
• don't forget the steps we've discussed in he previous slides!

Student B:

• works with me
• read the text together
• while reading, highlight unknown words

Text 1 - What is a contactless payment card according to §2 ?

Je gaat binnenkort met je klas naar Londen. 

Op internet vind je informatie over een nieuw betaalproduct.

Je vraagt je af of dit nieuwe betaalproduct iets voor jullie is om in Londen te gebruiken. 

Bij deze tekst horen 3 vragen.

Je vindt een reactie van Mrs. Minow op internet.
