Australian bushfires

The next couple of lessons, you will be working on a group project about the Australian bushfires.

With your group, you will:

 1. Come up with a plan to help out.
2. Raise awareness about the bushfires and your plan.

3. Organise an event to raise money to fund your plan.

What are we aiming for?

At the end of these lessons, you will be able to:

- Create an organised plan that clearly describes your ideas and actions.

- Use different platforms/media to raise awareness about a topic.

- Organise an event to raise money.

At the end...

You'll present all the work that you've done together in a 5-10 minute presentation. 

As a class, we'll choose one plan that we could actually do together. By then I'll see if I can arrange something within the school, but I can't make any promises.

There need to be both GIRLS and BOYS in your group!

1. Plan

Today, you are going to set up your plan for helping out with the Australian bushfires. 

You can decide to focus your plan on:

1. putting out the fires.

2. helping out the Australians.

3. saving the animals.

1.1 Plan

1.1 Discuss in your group what you would like to focus your plan on (fires, Australians or animals) and why.

Write this down in a Google Document, so that everyone can write/read.

1.2 Plan

1.2. Look up examples of what is already being done about your chosen focus (fires, Australians or animals).

Think of...

- charities

- Australian firefighters

- animal shelters

1.3 Plan

1.3. Decide on how you are going to help out your cause (fires, Australians or animals). 

Create a unique plan and write it down in your Doc.
You have to think of everything! 

What? How? Who? Where? Why? When? How much? How long? etc.
