Celsius and kelvin

Celsius (used almost everywhere in the world)
- Two fixed points
- Melting ice = 0 0C
- boiling point ofpure water
           = 100 0C

Starts at absolute zero
- 0 K
- 0 0C = 273 K
- Boiling water 373 K

- digital clinical thermometer: The sensor is an electric circuit where voltage accross the sensor 
varies with temperature. The voltage 
is converted to a temperature.

- Uses thermal radiation. 
- A hotter object emits more thermal radiation. 
- The tympanic (ear) thermometer measures temperature this way.
