 Setting: In what ways are time and place made important in the book? In what way is that important to the story? Any unexpected setting details? (e.g. a war story in an unexpected setting?)

- What is the community like? 
- Setting real event? 
- Why is the time this took place unexpected? -> after WWII (just 24 years after WWII ended) 
Students weren't born but teacher & parents were.

Magical land of Narnia -> describe
-  The beginning of the story is set in 1940's England, where it is the height of World War II -> Is this important? Escapism? 

Place -> The wardrobe = 'Magical door' to Narnia 

What is time like in Narnia? What is so special about it?!!!! What has this to do with the time during WW II?
