Relative Clauses

Zo'n bijzin begint meestal met: who, which of that.

Slide 27 - Diapositive

Relative Clauses
Who - personen
Which - dieren of dingen
That - personen, dieren of dingen.
That is informeler dan who/which

Sam, who lives next door, is my best friend.

Slide 28 - Diapositive

Soms heeft de bijzin alleen extra informatie. Je gebruikt dan nooit that, maar altijd who/which.

Carla, who is my best friend, loves to paint.

Slide 29 - Diapositive

Je kunt who/which samen met voorzetsels gebruiken.
The gym, which we always practise in, is closed.

Who veranderd dan soms in whom.
The instructor, about whom you told me, is really nice.

Slide 30 - Diapositive

Whose geeft bezit aan. Je vertaalt het met:
waarvan, van wie, wiens of wier.

The girl, whose passion is dancing, went to the club.
