The Future Tense (= toekomende tijd)

The Future Tense: Examples

1. Present simple

ex. Our plane lands at 8.55 a.m.

2. Present continuous

ex. Unfortunately, their top scorer isn't coming.

3. To be going to + hele werkwoord

ex. We're going to visit the Taj Mahal.

4. Will/shall + hele werkwoord

ex. I don't think dad will be angry.

The Future Tense: Use

1. Present simple: Voor dingen die volgens schema gaan gebeuren

2. Present continuous: Voor dingen die gepland zijn en vrijwel zeker gaan gebeuren

3. To be going to + hele werkwoord:  Als het plan er al was vóór het gesprek óf bij een voorspelling gebaseerd op een aanwijzing

4. Will/shall + hele werkwoord: Als het plan ontstaat tijdens het gesprek óf bij een voorspelling gebaseerd op een mening of onzekerheid over de toekomst (vaak in combinatie met I (don't) think/possibly/probably)
