  • Je gebruikt 'all bij drie of meer personen, dieren of dingen.
  • Je gebruikt every met enkelvoudige namen

Example: 
  • The suspect accepted all charges.
  • A criminal burgled nearly every house in the street.
  • None of the missing jewels were recovered.

  • Each en every worden beide gebruikt met enkelvoudige zelfstandige naamwoorden om hoeveelheid aan te geven.
  • Je gebruikt 'each' om nadruk te leggen op individuele dingen. 
  • Je gebruikt 'every' om nadruk te leggen op het geheel.
Example: 
  • She had paint on each leg. (fout: She had paint on every leg)
  • I've read every article in the library. (fout: I have read each article..)
