In the present tense, the verb 'to do' is used in the following patterns:
1. in negative sentences:
Many people do not like Donald Trump.
Miss van Kampen does not teach English.
2. in questions:
Do I look nice today?
What does he mean?
3. in short answers:
Yes, I do.
No, I don't.

How do we make a question with the verb '
to do
' ?
Just like with '
to be
', we switch
'to do'
with the subject to make a question.
Do you like chocolate?
Does she play any sports?

what, why, when, where, who, which or when
Then the verb '
to do
' becomes the second word in the sentence instead of the first.
