Make comparisons that are somehow equal (as...as)

Make comparisons that are somehow not equal (not as... as)

Dutch: als, dan 

How to use it?

Equal: 

Example:

The weather this summer is as bad as last year.

Not equal

Example:

The weather this summer is not as good as last year
