Past continuous

Je gebruikt deze vorm als een activiteit in het verleden een langere periode plaatsvond, en uiteindelijk gestopt is.

Je vormt de present continuous als volgt:

Pronoun + was/were + verb + ing

Bijvoorbeeld:

I was walking for two hours yesterday afternoon. 

Past simple vs continuous

Je kunt deze twee vormen samen gebruiken in één zin. 

De activiteit die het langst duurt is de PC, de activiteit die korter duurt is de PS. 

Bijvoorbeeld:

" I was having lunch when my mom called "

" We were having a conversation when she started to laugh"
