Phrasal verbs
- A phrasal verb is a verb combined with another word, usually a preposition or an adverb. 
- Phrasal verbs can be literal or idiomatic.
- The phrasal verb has a different meaning than the verb itself.

Examples of common phrasal verbs:
Grow up = Become an adult or mature        
             Example: When I grow up, I want to be a cowboy.
Give up = Stop trying/using                              
             Example: You should give up smoking.
Slow down = Go slower                            
             Example: You are driving too fast, slow down.
Break down =  Stop working or make smaller (for cars and machines)        
             Example: She was late because her car broke down.
Fill in = Complete a form                                
              Example: Can you fill this form in please?
Put out = Extinguish                     
              Example: We need some water to put out the fire.
Try on = Put on clothes to see if they fit you.       
               Example: Try on the blouse and see if it fits you.
