1. Name 2 things that you tend to forget or get wrong when writing a formal letter.
2. Do you check the rubric? 
3. Do you read the whole instruction before you start writing? How many times?
4. Do you check if you have everything on paper what was asked of you?

Think-pair-share  (5 min)
 Activity A:  You want to apply for a part-time job at the school cafeteria. Tell them:
  1.  about who you are (name, age, 3rd year student)
  2.  you had summer jobs at your aunt's canteen (experience)
  3.  you're available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  4. that you want to hear from them

Write the letter.  (Think of the "Parts of the Letter")

Activity 2: Individual
You are taking a gap year. You are interested in going to Australia for a year. You apply for a job as swimming instructor.

- introduce yourself (name, age, country, hobbies, gap year)
- experience (swimming diplomas, volunteer jobs as swimming instructor for young children and adults, also worked as a lifeguard)
- explain why you are the best candidate (you're sociable, team player, excellent swimmer)

Write the letter. Don't forget the Parts of the Letter !
