Present continuous 

(duurvorm tegenwoordige tijd)

Goal

Het doel van deze les: 
Aan het einde van deze les kun je present continuous gebruiken in bevestigende, ontkennende en vragende zinnen. 

Present continuous 

Je gebruikt de present continuous (duurvorm) als je wilt zeggen dat iets nu aan de gang is. 

Je maakt de present continuous door:  

to be (am, is of are) + hele werkwoord + ing 

to be + hele werkwoord + ing

I am sitting at the table.
 

He is waiting for the bus now.

I'm drinking a glass of milk.

They are chatting with friends at the moment.

Je kunt de duurvorm ook gebruiken om irritatie aan te geven. Er staan in de zin dan vaak woorden als always, again, still, etc.

They are always stealing my lunch.

Oh ja!

Sommige werkwoorden eindigen op een 'stomme e'

(je schrijft hem wel maar je hoort hem niet)

move - moving

drive - driving

hope - hoping

make - making

Oh ja! Oh ja!

sommige werkwoorden krijgen een verdubbeling van de medeklinker: 

run - running

plan - planning

swim - swimming

stop - stopping
