The task: a New Gallery of Honour
What are you going to do in this project?

You are going to learn to describe a work of art.
You are going to pick a theme, around which you are going to design your Gallery of Honour.
You are going to do research in the Rijksmuseum and pick three works of art that fit your theme.

You are going to write a story during English class, where you describe your theme and argue why each of your chosen works of art fit your theme and why they deserve a spot in your Gallery of Honour.

You are going to design your own Gallery of Honour in arts and crafts class.
You are going to present your Gallery of Honour during the ATC Art Fair.
You will be marked by your teachers and parents!

British Art Booklet
Your teacher will hand you a booklet. Do all the assignments in the booklet, please. You are allowed to use an online dictionary for part C.
You could use this one for synonyms and if you scroll down you will also find antonyms for the word you have typed in.

What does the art show?
How would you describe this art to someone who couldn't see it?
What colours have been used?
What do you think inspired the artist to create this?
What is the artwork about? Is there a hidden message in the artwork?
What questions would you ask the artist, if you could?

Which is your least favourite piece of art? Why?
Where do you think the artists got their inspiration from?
What questions do you have about the artists or artwork?

Go online and find information about one of your favourite artists.

Pick one work of art by this artist and describe this. Use the “Artist study form” for this. Fill out the entire form, please.
Pay special attention to the words you use! Try to use persuasive language as much as you can.
