Speaking tips

Soms kun je tijdens een gesprek niet op een Engels woord komen. Dit is wat je dan kunt doen:

Probeer het woord te omschrijven (kleur, vorm, wat kun je ermee doen?, waar lijkt het op?)

Zoek naar een ander Engels woord dat ongeveer hetzelfde betekent.

Gebruik juist het tegenovergestelde van het woord dat je bedoelt en maak dan een zin met ‘not’.

Gebruik gebaren. Dit lijkt misschien vreemd, maar doe je vaak ook in een Nederlands gesprek.
