1.2 Present simple

Present simple is used for:

1. habits/routines

2. preferences. 

I always go to bed at 10 PM. I don't go to bed at 8 PM every day.

Tim loves football. Thom doesn't love football.

Anna often goes out with friends.

Present simple:

What is the rule of present simple?

1. ww + - ed
2. shit = with she/he/it : ww +-(e)s
3. form to be + ww+-ing

Present simple:

2. They were at the restaurant last night.
3. They have been walking for hours.
4. They did not know about the cat.

Present Simple:

Present Simple:

Adverbs of Frequency = how often you do something

I always get up early in the mornings.  = usually before the verb (ww)

I am never late for work. = BUT after "to be" (= am, is, are) (ww zijn)

Talk to each other - how often do you do these things? Use full sentences:

- get up early on Saturday

- be late for school

- watch sports on TV

- be hungry after school

I write poems.

Where does the adverb go?

1. I write sometimes poems.
