Part 2 (4 minutes)

In pairs in the Break-Out Rooms

I’m going to give each of you three pictures. I’d like you to talk about two of them on your own for about a minute, and also to answer a question briefly about your partner’s pictures.

(Candidate A), it’s your turn first. Here are your pictures. They show places in which food is prepared differently.

Candidate A: I’d like you to compare two of the pictures and say why people might be interested in eating each place, and what food would be like in each place.(1 minute)

CandidateB: In which place do you think you might get the healthiest food? (Why?)

(approximately 30 seconds) 

Now, Candidate B, here are your photos. 

They show people doing different types of exercise.

Candidate B:I’d like you to compare two of the pictures and say why people might have chosen to do this type of exercise, and how effective each type of exercise might be. 

Candidate A, which type of exercise do you think is the most effective? (Why?)

Part 3: Collaborative task

Part 3 (4 minutes)

Now, I’d like you to talk about something together for about two minutes.

Here are some different types of tasks you might be given as part of a job interview and a question for you to discuss. First you have some time to look at the task. (15 seconds)

Now, talk to each other about what each of following job interview tasks might enable employers to learn about candidates.  (1 minute)

Now you have about 2 minutes to decide which two tasks are most effective?
