What do you always have to do?

  • Always take a notebook with you to class. 
  • Write down the grammar rules in your notebook.
  • Write other important stuff in your notebook.

No notebook (or an empty one) means that you've forgotten your work.


Create a vocabulary list at the end of your notebook. This broadens your vocabulary and help you remember more.

In groups - speaking:
- Sit in groups of four and talk about your opinion about the video clip. 
- Everyone has a different role. You can decide who gets what role.
- Make sure you tell each other why you think that.



Different roles in a group:
  • Leader - Makes sure the group stays on topic.
  • Monitor - Makes sure everyone will get a say.
  • Notetaker/timekeeper: Writes everything down and looks at the time.
  • Devil's advocate: Makes sure everyone knows the "why" of the opinion.

Everyone will give their opinion about the clip.

You have 10 minutes.

If you're finished early, go over all the opinions again.

- Per group, decide who will summarize what you've talked about in your group. 1-2 min per group, max.
- 1 minute to prepare your summary together. 
- Per group, decide who will talk about how the speaking exercise went. 1 minute

For the listeners:
- Write down in keywords (steekwoorden) what every group has talked about. 


To help you summarize:
  • What did you agree on?
  • What didn't you agree on?
  • Why was something funny?
  • Why did group members (dis)like the host?
  • Why did group members (dis)like the guest?
  • The overall group opinion

- Write a short summary about the show (keep that video clip in mind).
- Write in the first person (I and me)
- Use page 9 of your textbook as a reference.
- Word count:  40-60
