Global free trade
= System in which all the countries of the world can trade with one another without restrictions or interference

Example: I produce milk and I can also sell the milk in Germany without any problems from the German government.

But not everyone is happy about that? How about that?

Slide 17 - Diapositive

Global free trade
Sounds nice, but doesn't work in reality:
*Countries are played off against each other
Result:
*Import duties to protect their own industry

Slide 18 - Diapositive

Import duties
To protect its own market, the other country introduces import duties = Tax on products imported into a country.

Example: If I want to sell my milk in Germany I suddenly have to pay 20 cents per liter if I want to sell it
