Different ways to talk about the future

Which ways to talk about the future were discussed in the video?​

I am meeting her tonight. = present continuous​

I am going to meet her tonight = be going to + infinitive​

My plane leaves at six = present simple​

I’ll show you a picture = will + infinitive​

There are four ways to talk about the future, but for now you need to be able to use be going to and the present continuous.​

be going to + infinitive

be going to + infinitive (hele werkwoord): for personal plans or intentions, but you have not made all the arrangements yet​

I am going to visit London this summer, but I haven’t booked a flight or hotel yet.​

Present continuous

present continuous: for plans or arrangements with other people which have already been made.​

 I am visiting London this summer with my sister; we’ve already booked a flight and a hotel.​
