Note: History

Discovered’ around 1650 by the Dutch but there were already some people living there (KhoiKhoi)

Ship stranded at the cape – new name: Kaap de Goede hoop

VOC (Dutch Trading company) started to colonise the country

Later lots of battles with the British (language became English) 

Around 1900 – Union of South Africa -> New laws  -->… different laws for different races!!!         Apartheid!

1. What is apartheid and give some examples how apartheid is shown in the society of South Africa
