The theory of Forms
Everything is in a constant state of change.
How can the world contain true knowledge, if what we are investigating is changing from moment to moment?
Mathematical truths do not change 2+2 will always equal four, triangles will always have three sides.
Plato believed that you could obtain this level of truth about all objects.
He postulated that there must be other realities of which we can have true and certain knowledge.
This is the world of the Forms that is unchanging and eternal.
