Adjectives = bijv nw

Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord gebruik je om iets of iemand 

te omschrijven. Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord wordt vaak gevolgd door een zelfstandig naamwoord.

Onthoud: geen -ly als er een ZN achter staat!

De vraag hier is: WAT?

That is an amazing girl.  (Wat voor meisje?)

I think he is a terrible football player.

Adverb = bijwoord

Een bijwoord gebruik je om aan te geven HOE iemand iets doet. Een bijwoord omschrijft vaak een werkwoord, maar ook een ander bijwoord, een bijvoeglijk naamwoord of de hele zin.

                                                                                    Mary sings wonderfully.

                                                     My grandparents talk incredibly loudly.

                            I am eating an amazingly delicious steak!

IC - ALLY

(fantastic - fantastically)

Y - ILY

funny - funnily

LE - LY

incredible -incredibly

Uitzonderingen:

good - well 

quite - quite

fast - fast

                                  hard - hard (hardly = nauwelijks)

long - long

Uitzonderingen ww:

      to be, to look, to appear, to seem (denk aan de zintuigen)

                           dan geen - ly
