Common mistakes
- ofcourse = Of course ( two words)
- Bij (ik werk bij SVO) = at (I work at SVO)
- And/but at beginning of sentence is wrong. They are used to build on information that was given before.
- "came" is verleden tijd voor "come", so it's "come by the pub"
- Ik wil/Ik zal/ Ik zou: I want/I will/I would

Asking questions
There are multiple ways to ask questions. Today we look at 3
- Present simple questions
- Past simple questions
- WH questions
- Modal questions

Present simple questions
- When to use: when asking about facts.
- How to make: do or does (he/she/it) at the beginning of sentence, then subject then bare infiniive (entire verb)

Examples:
Do you like football?
Does the contract make clear how many days I have to work?

Past simple questions
- When to use: when asking about facts about the past.
- how to make: did + subject + bare infinitive (hele ww)

Examples:
- Did you go to madame tussauds when you were in Amsterdam?
- Did he enjoy the show?

Asking for something you already have info about: didn't + subject + bare infinitive

The following sentences are answers to questions. What should the question be?
1. yes, I love swimming
2. This model has five doors, the cheaper one has 3
3. No, we went to the movies instead
4. Yes, it looks fabulous on you
5. yes, I sent it to you yesterday

Modal questions
Questions with words like: can/could/should/will/shall/would
- Can I offer you a drink? Kan ik je wat te drinken aanbieden
- Could I have a coke? Mag ik een colaatje?
- Should she bring a gift? Moet ze een cadeautje mee?
- Will you stay with me? Kan je bij me blijven?
- Shall I come to yours? Zal ik naar jou toe komen?
- Would you like a coke? Wil je misschien een colaatje? /zou je willen/

Asking WH- questions 
WH questions are used to get specific informtion, for example about a place, time or person.
did you go to the beach <-> when did you go to the beach
Does she love cake <-> what type of cake does she love?

wie - who: who did you meet at the pub?
wat - what: what did you do when you were in London?
wanneer- when: when does she go to school
waar - where: where did you stay?
waarom - why: why is he talking to her? - why isn't he talking to her?
