Mixed conditionals
When the two parts of a conditional sentence refer to different times the resulting sentence is a "mixed conditional" sentence. There are two types of mixed conditional sentences.

Slide 13 - Diapositive

Mixed conditonal version A:

Refers to an unreal past condition and its probable result in the present

The tense in the 'if' clause is the past perfect, and the tense in the main clause is the present conditional.

Mixed conditional version B:

Past result of present or continuing condition

The tense in the 'if' clause is the simple past, and the tense in the main clause is the perfect conditional.
“If it wasn’t winter, I would’ve walked home.”
“If I had chosen the study of my dreams when I was a kid, I would be on the moon now.”
