Verb patterns 

gerund betekent werkwoorden die eindigen met 'ing'

to infinitive is gewoon een werkwoord> to decide, to practice etc.

we can divide the verb patterns into 4 categories.

Verb + .... ing

> I avoid eating sweets.

> I enjoy cooking.

> She misses swimming with her friend.

verb + someone + to .....

> My dad usually allows me to go to parties.

> I would like you to be happy.

> She tells me to wait until next year. 

verb + to ....

> He wants to be famous.

> I would love to go with you.

> I promise to take care of you.

Modal verb + .... 

should, could, must, might, can 

> You should start paying for rent. 

> They can go there.
