•  Two brothers raised by a wolf.
• Romules killed Remus and built Rome.
• Romules was the first of 7 Roman kings.

•  Last 3 kings were bad Etruscan tyrants.
• The last king was exiled.

• Republic= country without a king.
• 2 consuls ruled= rulers for 1 year.
• During war 1 consul could become dictator for 6 months. =legal ruler with all the power.

• Plebeians could vote in the People's assembly
• Tribunes had veto right

Volkstribuun= moeten de plebejers beschermen. Ze waren altijd met 10 en het waren vrijwel altijd rijke plebejers

Veto= stopping a discision = 'I forbid it'
