General remarks
  • Dont make spelling errors.
  • Write headings, use bold, cursive, underline and colour only if it makes things clearer. 
  • Write formulas in their own line, and number the formulas. Symbols must be in cursive. Use an equation editor to make formulas. 
  • Dont use 'I' and 'me' in your report. Write in the third person.
  • Give numbers to the foto's, figures and tables for clarity.
  • Make your report in word, and tables and graphs in excell (or other)
  • Save as a PDF and hand in in google glassroom

  • Good to make this before you do the practical.
  • Explain all the theory relevant to this practical. This counts the most, so it must be saturated.

Answer the questions:
  • How and with what did you make the measurements.
  • Write a paragraph explaining everything that you did.

Also insert some foto's of your practical (make them at the start of your practical that you dont forget) and also explain what is on the photo's.

Here you write the results that you have collected in a clear structure.
It is useful to write your data in a table, which you can make in excell (then you can easilly convert it to a graph)

Conclusion and recommendation
  • This is where you interpret the data and calculations.
  • Explain what it means and if it is correct (usually you can pick up when something is not right).
  • Explain why it is correct or why not, and also if a value is an outlier explain what went wrong.
  • Write what you could have done better.

Directly proportional

If the force is twice as large 
the extention is also twice 
as large.

If the force is three times as large, the extention is also three times as large.

Skill 7 (back of textbook)
  1. Draw a set of axes.
  2. Each axis gets a magnitude and unit.
  3. Calibrate the axis correctly (steps of 2, 4, 5, 10 or a multiple of these.
  4. Plot the data as points in the axes.
  5. Draw a straight line through the points if they lie more or less on the same line.
