- in this lesson you will do two speaking activities 

- during the activities you will use speaking techniques and strategies 

Activity one 

Speeddate, any ideas?

 Instructions:

- Imagine yourself as a completely different person or character. Your alter ego can be anything - a superhero, a villain, a time traveller, a secret agent or a magical creature. Write down your ideas. 

- You will have two minutes to talk with the person who's sitting across you. Ask questions to learn about the other person's alter ego. Share fun and interesting details about your alter ego's life. 

- After two minutes ,one row shifts down one seat, and the process repeats until everyone has spoken to multiple alter ego's. 

Class discussion

-What was the most interesting alter ego you met?

Share your thoughts or favourite moments from the activity. 

- How did the speaking go? What went well? Did you have any difficulties while speaking? 

   Activity two

Hobbies

Why do you think having a hobby is important?

Write down some key words about your hobby/hobbies. Also write down questions you would like to ask your partner about his/her hobby/hobbies.

You have 2 minutes.

In pairs, talk about your hobbies. Ask each other questions to keep the conversation going. Remember to use the techniques and strategies when you can't find the words! You have 4 minutes.

How did the speaking go? What went well? Did you have any difficulties while speaking?
