PRIMARY SECTOR: Agriculture and forestry
Work in which products are taken straight from nature. For example:
  • Farmers, fishermen en lumberjacks.

14% of Indonesia works in the primary sector.
Mainly ricefields (paddies/sawas).

SECONDARY SECTOR:
Industry
Work in which products from the first sector are processed. For example:
  • Clothes, cars or food.

40% of indonesia works in the industry.
Putting products together is called: assembly.

SERVICES
Work that is concerned with providing services. For example:
  • Teachers, streetsellers en barber.
46% of Indonesia works in the service sector.

Many people in the service sector do unskilled work:
                                    Informal sector.
