What is the difference between teasing (plagen) and bullying (pesten)?

Cyberbullying - when someone repeatedly (herhaaldelijk) posts mean, false, hurtful, embarrassing and torementful (kwellend) messages on social media about someone else. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behavior.

Cyberbullying can be worse than real-world bullying. 

• Bespreek in het Engels bovenstaande stelling met je groep.
• Schrijf als een groep minimaal 3 punten (maximaal 5   punten) op waarom jij denkt dat cyberpesten erger   is   dan op school pesten.
• Presenteer 1 van de 3 punten.

• A drop in social behavior — avoiding friends or social events
• Isolating his or herself in their room more than usual
• Becoming more quiet or withdrawn
• Finding it hard to concentrate on schoolwork
• Grades dropping
• Losing interest in activities that they normally enjoy
• Skipping school or expressing a desire to skip school
• Appearing angry when looking at their phone, tablet, or computer
• Hiding their phone or computer screen from view
• Avoiding using their phone
• Using drugs or alcohol
• Expressing dark thoughts or emotions
• Talking about suicide

What can you do to stop cyberbullying?

• Schrijf als een groep minimaal 2 punten (maximaal 4 punten) op wat jij kan doen om cyberpesten te stoppen.
• Presenteer 1 van de 2 punten. 

• A drop in social behavior — avoiding friends or social events

Rethink before you act

With cyberbullying, one press of a finger on an electronic device can shatter someone's reputation and what they think is their entire life. It'scary!
