Put an end to the civil war in England (war of the roses) between York and Lancasters. 
Dynastic marriage (1501) to Elizabeth of York which started the Tudor Dynasty. 
Last king to win the throne on the battle field.

Was the only son of King Henry VIII and Jane Seymour
Never actually ruled individually because of his age (9 years old) and was mostly ruled by powerful men in court. 
Didn't want Mary to succeed him, but he had no heirs.

She was the daughter of Henry VII and Catherine of Aragon
Nicknamed "Bloody Mary" because of her execution of protestants, she was a Roman Catholic. 

Died without an heir, so names half-sister as successor

She was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn
No civil war during her reign.

Overturned religious problems and war --> Elizabethan age
 among other things, an incredibly creative time.
Refused to marry and died at 69 ("the virgin queen)

The kingdom had begun to establish its position as a world leader.

  • Mary Stuart's son who was already King of Scotland took over the English throne (James I of England). 
  • Mary Stuart was Queen Elizabeth I's cousin and seen by the Catholics as the rightful Queen, but she had married the dauphin of France.
  • Marks the end of the Tudor Dynasty and the start of the Stuarts.

De docent controleert in de slotfase van de les of de leerdoelen door alle leerlingen behaald zijn en plaatst de les in de context van de betreffende Unit. De docent evalueert samen met de leerlingen het leren en het gedrag op basis van het Learner Profile en de ATL-skills. Dit wordt vastgelegd in Toddle. Samen blikken docent en leerlingen vooruit aan de hand van de JdW-planner.
