 Speaking Activity
  • You will be given three photos - you need to choose two.  Do not speak about the third picture!
  • You will be asked to talk about and compare these photos (1 minute each candidate). You don't get time to prepare.
  • Important: Don't just describe what you see but hypothesise about the photos and look for comparisons between them.

"comparing" means what it says..
If you are not comparing then you are not scoring points. 

Comparing means saying what is the same in your chosen pictures and what is different. 

There are many ways to do this but using the magic CAE words is the easiest.

With a partner, each choose a pair of photos to compare 

Use the photos on page 75
  1. Talk for a minute EACH about why the people have changed appearance in these ways, and how they might be feeling.
  2. Look at your partners photos and tell your partner, in no more than 30 seconds, which change of appearance would cause the greatest reaction.
