Native and exotic
Animals can be native or exotic (sometimes both)
  • Native = It normally lives in the area it is found in
Example: the mallard is native to the Netherlands

  • Exotic = It originally doesn't belong in the area it lives in

Sometimes exotics are counted as native animals, the rabbit is a good example of this.
  • Invasive exotic = It also creates problems in that area
