TELLING TIME!

Goal:

At the end of the lesson you can ask somebody what time it is and you can tell time in English. 

"Hoe laat is het?"

OF

So DON'T say

'How late is it?'

What's the time? Write down your answers in English!

What's the time? Discuss with your neighbour!

It's 3 o'clock.

It's 1 o'clock.

It's 25 (minutes) past six.

It's 5 (minutes) past ten.

It's half past one. 

OR

It's 30 (minutes)  past one.

It's a quarter past two.

OR

It's 15 (minutes) past two.

It's a quarter to eight.

OR

It's 15 (minutes) to eight.

It's half past four.

OR

It's 30 (minutes) past four.

Het is kwart over vier.

1. It's a quarter to four.
2. It's a quarter past four.

Het is half twaalf.

1. It's half past eleven.
2. It's half past twelve.

Het is zeven uur.

1. It's seven hours.
2. It's seven o'clock.

Het is vijf over half vier.

1. It's twenty-five to four.
2. It's five past half past four.
