Participle clause
Simply: a clause with a participle in it. 
Three types of participles you need to know

  1. Present participle        Onvoltooid deelwoord
  2. Past participle               Voltooid deelwoord
  3. perfect participle         bv: "dat gedaan hebbende"

  1. Present participle         -ing 
  2. Past participle                -ed (3rd row)
  3. perfect participle          Having + -ed (3rd row)

How to use participle clauses
  1. Identify main clause and relative clause (conjunctions/voegwooren)
  2. Identify the verb in the relative clause. 
  3. Turn the verb into the appropriate participle
  4. Remove conjunction & subject, add clause to beginning of a sentence, separate by comma.
