Cat in the Rain
“Cat in the Rain” is a short story about an American couple on vacation in Italy set in or around the couple's hotel, which faces the sea as well as the "public garden and the war monument". Throughout the story it rains, leaving the couple trapped in their hotel room.

Hemingway uses a "bare-bones style". He uses a minimum of words to say what he wants to say. He keeps it plain.
