Voor de toekomstige tijd heb je vier keuzes: 

- will + werkwoord                                        (I will walk)
- am/is/are + going to + werkwoord     (I am going to walk)
- am/is/are + werkwoord + ing                (I am walking)
- werkwoord (+s bij he/she/it)                 (I walk)

will + werkwoord     (I will walk, He will call, We will talk)

- Gebruik je om iets aan te bieden (I will help you out.)
- Bij beloftes (It will be fine, I promise!)
- Bij aankondigingen en besluiten (I will call you tomorrow)
- Voorspellingen zonder bewijs 
   (I don't think she will win the game, but I don't know why)

am/is/are + going to + werkwoord
am/is/are + going to + werkwoord    (I am going to call)

- Gebruik je als je in de toekomst iets van plan bent, maar het 
   niet helemaal zeker/precies is. 
   (I am going to visit my grandma somewhere next week)
- Gebruik je bij voorspellingen met bewijs: 
   (Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain!)

- Gebruik je bij afspraken in de toekomst waarbij de plaats 
   en/of tijd al vast staat. 
   (I am eating at my grandmother's house tonight.)
   (We are travelling to Madrid next month.)

- Gebruik je bij dingen die via een vast schema of rooster lopen.     (The train leaves at 17:00.)
   (School starts at 11 o'clock.)

- Plaats komt altijd voor de tijd in de zin:
   (He cycles to school every day.)
   (She goes shopping in Amsterdam next Monday.)

- Woorden die iets zeggen over hoe vaak het gebeurt komen 
   voor het hoofdwerkwoord: 
   ( I always cycle to school.)    (He never talks to his brother.)
