I will start with an explanation of the present continuous.

The Present Continuous =  Nu

Je gebruikt deze vorm om aan te geven dat je nu iets aan het doen bent.

HOE??? To be(zijn)+werkwoord+ing

To be: I am/he is/ you are/they are/ we are.

Grammatica: present continuous

Als iets nu bezig is of aan de gang is, gebruik je present continuous (de 'ing-vorm):
