Landscape Zones: 

the savannah

• Located north and south of the tropical rainforest. 
• Has a dry season for 6 months
• Vegetation consists of tall grasses and a few trees. 
• Large animals live on the savannah

Landscape Zones: 

the steppe

• Located north and south of the savannah
• Has very litte precipitaion (250 - 500 mm)
• Vegetation consists of low shrubs and grasses

Landscape Zones: 

the desert 

• Located north and south of the steppe
• Almost no precipitation (0 - 250 mm)
• Almost no vegetation, sometimes cactusses or shrubs
• Sometimes an oasis with palm trees
• Hot days, very cold nights 
• Nomads live in the desert
