The future

4 different ways to talk about the future

• Voorspelling ZONDER bewijs: prediction without evidence
• Voorspelling MET bewijs: prediction WITH evidence
• Afspraak nabije toekomst: plan close future
• Tijden volgens vast schema: fixed event/schedule

Use of future tenses 

Een gebeurtenis in de toekomst die al gepland of afgesproken is. 

Een belofte of toezegging 

Een voorspelling waar geen of weinig bewijs voor is. 

Een voorspelling waar bewijs voor is. 

Een plan waarvoor alles geregeld is. 

Een vaste gebeurtenis, door een ander gepland. Je kunt het opzoeken.

1. Present Simple	er is sprake van een vast schema the bus leaves in 5 minutes	he/she/it + ww + s
2. Present Continuous	in de nabije toekomst, tijd & plaats staat vast we are leaving in 5 minutes	am/is/are + ww+-ing
3. To be going to	plannen voor in de toekomst voorspellingen met bewijs It's New Years Eve: It is going to be very loud outside .	am/is/are + going to + ww
4. Will/shall (won't)	beloftes / iets aanbieden/ voorspellingen zonder bewijs I will not tell anyone	Shall/will (not) + ww

But also

*We use the future continuous (will/shall+ be+ -ing) to

say that an action will be in progress at a definite time in the future.

Example:  I'll be living in my own apartment by this time next year.

And 

*We use the future perfect (will/shall + have+ past

participle) to describe something that will be completed before a definite time in the future (unit 1 and 2)

By the end of the month, I will have completed my dissertation .
