• You can use an efficient strategy to find the right answer.

What do you do before you start
reading a text?

Before you start reading

 Activate knowledge on the subject

How?

- pictures, illustrations, headings, subheadings, source

-  decide what kind of text it is:

  news article, poem, fragment from a book, advertisment etc

Why?

- Makes reading easier, because you activated your brain on the subject

You activated your knowledge on the subject. What is the next step?

While reading

- Read the question first.

- Find the paragraph or lines mentioned in the question.

- Read this part intensively.

- Answer the question in your own words (in your head).

After reading

- Is your own answer among the answers? (A,B,C or D)

- Can you cross out wrong answers? 

- If yes: You found the right answer!

-not sure: read the paragraph again, look up words you don't know, do not guess the answer.
