What do you know about 

the conditional?

In the next video you learn about the American Health system and Covid.

Write down 3 conditonal sentences that suit the contents of the video.

You can use facts from the video, but you could also give your own opinion on how the US Health system works, how you feel about what is presented to you in the video and so on.

While translating

1. Be precise

2. Try to stay as close to the original sentence as possible

3. Mind your tenses
(In English you migt need another tense than in Dutch)

4. Think about punctuation

Tranlate the following sentences

1. Als China eerder open was geweest over het Covid virus, dan zou het nu niet over de hele wereld verspreid zijn.

2. Wanneer minder mensen zich aan de Covid richtlijnen houden, duurt het langer voor het virus onder controle is.

3. Mensen in verzorgingstehuizen mogen niet weer geisoleerd raken, als het Covid virus zich weer sneller verspreid.

1. Als China eerder open was geweest over het Covid virus, dan zou het nu niet over de hele wereld verspreid zijn.If China had been open about the Covid virus earlier, it would not have spread all over the world by now.

2. Wanneer minder mensen zich aan de Covid richtlijnen houden, duurt het langer voor het virus onder controle is. When/If fewer people stick/hold on to/follow/adhere to the Covid guidelines, it will take longer for the virus to be under control.

3. Mensen in verzorgingstehuizen mogen niet weer geisoleerd raken, als het Covid virus zich weer sneller verspreid. People in nursing homes should not/ cannot/ may not become/get isolated again, if/when the Covid virus starts/is to spread faster/more rapidly/more swiftly once more/again.
