§3.2 DIVISORS (delers)

Let's make our WORDLIST a bit longer with some WORDS from 

§3.1  and  §3.2.

+  Open your NOTEBOOK on the last page and 

+  Write down the following words

WORDS for your WORDLIST,

part 1:

digit - cijfer, vinger                                                                     divisor - deler

value - waarde                                                                             division - deling  (like 6 : 2 = 3)

billion - miljard    (1,000,000,000)                                         remainder - rest (like 9 : 4 = 2, remainder 1)

The meaning of all these new words will become clear when doing the paragraph yourself.

It's just good to see, hear and write them down in your Wordlist now.)

property - eigenschap

prime number - priemgetal

consecutive numbers - opeenvolgende getallen (1, 2, 3, 4 etcetera)                              

multiplication - vermenigvuldiging

even numbers - even getallen (2, 4, 6 etcetera)

odd numbers - oneven getallen (1, 3, 5 etcetera)

multiple - veelvoud (12 is a multiple of 3 because 4 x 3 = 12)

Here's the meaning of the joke:

1st  being in prime form - being in good shape,

   but a prime number is also een priemgetal. 

  

2nd  odd couple; a peculiar (apart) couple,

   but odd also means oneven.
