Stopping distance
Stopping distance = reaction distance + braking distance

Reaction distance = v x t
v = speed in m/s and t = time in seconds

Braking distance is given or can be find in a graph.

a. Braking distance at 120 km/h is 90 m (fig. 28 page 197)
b. G. v = 120 km/h = 120:3.6 = 33.3 m/s
     t = 0.8 s

     S. v = s / t     s = v xt = 33.3 x 0.8 = 26.6 m
c. Stopping distance = reaction distance + breaking distance
stopping distance = 26.6 m + 90 m = 116.6 metres
